That's a big OOOPS!!

So it's day 1 and I'm thinking I'm all that with my 5 point breakfast and hardcore gym class earning me extra points ( even though that secret is saved for week 2, I have friends in the previously fat places so, yeah that's 4 points for me)I'm not hungry and so I make a controlled decission to pick up my favorite Chicken Salad from Rubio's. (Grilled chicken, chopped lettuce and cabbage, salsa, a few chopped chips in it, a little shredded cheese and a dressing of some sort) So I'm guessing with the aid of my new handy dandy pocket guide about 9 points plus dressing.
Ding Ding, correct it was 9 but when I got home and looked it up, the dressing alone is 8 points.
So that's my lesson for day 1.
DRESSING ON THE SIDE!!!

  2. Oh here I am! One of those fatty bloggy peeps. And dressing is a KILLER! It looks all sweet and innocent hanging out with your veggies so perfectly. But then it comes to slap you in the face when you realize its circa 234 points per TBSP! Not sure what kind of dressings you like but I'm a huge fan of Cindy's Kitchen's Fat Free Balsamic. It doesn't taste fat free (I promise) and has a little kick! Usually Whole Foods has it and it's in the refrigerated section. Ok this is a long comment. The end!

  3. Welcome to weight watcher world! You will now try to guess the amount of points in random crap foods you do not want to eat just to see if you are right. Good work on hitting the gym! That part maybe hard sometimes but very rewarding. I look forward to reading more blog entries.

  6. Welcome to BlogLand! Hope you enjoy it!

8 points for a little smidge of dressing?!?! Outrageous. I learned that lesson a long time ago, look up the point values of your meal BEFORE you go out and order them, you'll probably be shocked and horrified!

  7. I'm with Carolyn on that one. We think salads are so innocent, but things like cheese and dressing and tortilla crunchies add up fast!

Welcome to the WW world and the bloggy world. I'm been doing both for a while now. Lost more than 35 pounds and now I'm trying to lose another 5...or 10!

  9. good luck on your WW journey! I am a fellow WW'er .....although these days I've had more off days than on! Regarding dressing on the side - I also stick my fork in the dressing on the side, just to get a taste of the dressing - with each bite! Makes me happy but, strange looks all around from the rest of the world ;) Good Luck with WW!
